First Thursdays: Our Immigrants, Our History with Love with Joy Art Club at the Ontario Museum
The Museum welcomes artist Cynthia Huerta, founder of Love with Joy Art Club to lead a three-part series of art making sessions centered on community expression, BIPOC stories, and joy. In honor of May Day, also known as, International Workers Day, participants will learn about the history of immigrant and indigenous labor and their contribution to the development of the City of Ontario. In this art making session, participants will honor the people of Ontario by visiting Gem of the Foothills exhibition and create stand-up paper dolls and use historic images of Ontario’s landscape as backdrops to tell stories of our community histories.
