Experience the Erie Canal in a whole new way with this interactive program for kids and adults. Learn about the early canal from local historians and get your hands on some of the old tools and used to dig this 363-mile waterway, 200 years ago. (Dress for outside weather, just like the canal workers, although activities do NOT include being on the water.) After learning about this massive undertaking, tour the Peppermint Oil factory that thrived because of the canal. Also included is a trip to the Wayne County Museum where you can "capture the canal" and see more photos and hands on activities for the whole family.
